MENTORSHIP

A-T-H-L-E-T-E-P-R-E-N-E-U-R

Having character is as important to athletic success as physical ability or skill. Our unique program encourages athletes to set goals, manage their time, eat healthy, live by principles and define their quest for athletic success.

College Recruiting Advisement and Education guides athletes and their families through the recruiting process, empowering the recruit with the knowledge needed to make the best decision for his or her future. Recruitment knowledge and game film analysis helps ease the decision-making process.

Xtreme Heat believes in no child being left behind, and going beyond what’s expected to get the unexpected.   Our goal is to develop youth programs that will assist in preparing our youth for the next century.

These programs are designed to motivate the youth in all aspects of their lives and give them hope and a reason to prevail in school, in sports, in music, computers and technology.

Many very talented young people get left behind because of lack of focus in academics and eventually lose focus in life.

ATHLETEPRENEUR is designed to rebuild self-esteem, rejuvenate our communities, emphasize school pride and raise school spirit, to educate students, student-athletes about scholarships, job opportunities, testing information, tutoring and etc.

Today so many young talented athletes have the abilities but do not know how to handle the social pressures that come with their success.

Their opportunities for long term success are limited.

We welcome your sponsorship and volunteering as a speaker, or presenter to help make a positive impact in the lives of aspiring young men and women.

TESTAMONIALS...........

In summer 2009, Trina was invited to the first Women's Hall of Fame Basketball Select Camp.

Here is what she says about it:

"My name is Patrina D. Goree. I am a senior at Jack Yates High School where I am also on the basketball team. This summer I was selected to go to Tennessee and play in the first Women's Hall of Fame basketball Select Camp July 26-28 2009. It was a great experience and I would recommend any 9th-12th grade girls to attend the camp and learn more about their game as well as new things. The camp improved my game in 3 days. Every morning we woke up at 7am and didn't finish until about 9:45-10pm. It was all worth it though. We did speed, agility, and quickness drills, defensive and offensive stations, and also dynamic stretching after each meal. That helped a lot because you get really loose and even if you were really full, it's like the dynamic stretching makes your body feel like you only ate a portion and you are more energized. The director and coach's were great people and easy to get along with.

They taught us a lot in those 3 days. We had a 3-point and skills contest. At a nutrition seminar, they talked about how to eat to get proteins and energy before a workout and always eat within 30 minutes after a workout. Dane Bradshaw, a former University of Tennessee Men’s Basketball player, came and talked to us about how it's like to play in college and what you might go through but the good will come out eventually. Everyone got to know each other and exchange phone numbers, email addresses, myspace, facebook, etc. I had a great time and if I wasn't a senior I would go again in 2010!"

YOUNGEST PLAYER TO COMPETE AT A HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL

I have been training with Laquita Thompson for a year now. I enjoy training with her because she pushes me and she knows what she is doing. She has helped build my confidence and explosiveness to the basket. Laquita is the best trainer I have ever trained with. She is very professional and runs very organized training sessions. She is always positive about the game. I enjoy training with her and hope to continue to get better.

Marissa Banfield

My daughter Marissa Banfield has been training with Laquita Thompson (Xtreme Sports Management), now going on a year.  As parents of an advanced 12 year old Basketball Player, we have to say, Laquita is an exceptional trainer.  Marissa really enjoys training with Laquita.  Laquita is very professional, and runs a very professional training business.  She uses cutting edge along with a mixture of old school techniques, to train.  She is very good at pushing Marissa to get the most out of her, without pushing over the limit.  Yes it can be very hard training at times, but it is all in a positive way, all positive reinforcement.  Very well organized and structured training.  We can tell Laquita is very passionate about training and teaching young men and women the game of basketball.  She really enjoys watching her students learn and grow with each session.  I would defiantly recommend Laquita to any serious basketball player, no matter what level they are ………………………………………..Marissa has trained with numerous trainers, there is no comparison when it come to Laquita, and in our opinion, she is by far head and shoulders above anyone else Marissa has trained with.

“I have had the pleasure of knowing Ms.Thompson for some years. She has proven her talents and skills over and over again. As a professional Basketball Trainer and Recruiter, I cast my vote that she is in the catagory of "Elite". Her careing and hands-on aproach is what any potential athlete would want and need. She gets the job done and is willing to make the sacrafice that is neceesary to complete the objective. If there is a willing athlete, then Coach Thompson is the able and willing mentor. My gratitude is that of a father, coach, athlete, and a businessman myself. As a parent/coach, I recognized that my daughter had some superior, but raw basketball skills. I allowed Coach Thompson to handel my 11 year old daughter. She took my daughter and worked with her for two weeks. Afterwards, my daughhter became the starting point guard for an 18U AAU team, averaging 12 points, 7 assist, per game. My daughter began reading Offensive and Defensive sets on the court, immediatly. Her skills have since developed into an elite point guard. There has been over 10 recruiting attempts by numerous high schools that expressed an extreme interest in my daughter becomming a part of their basketball programs. There have been numerous recruiting attempts from AAU teams for my daughters abilities as a point/shooting guard. She lead her junior high shool in three/four District Championships.(As a 7th grader after winning her District Championship, she was pulled up and lead the 8th grade varsity team to win their District Championship. To co-Thompson a big thanks and love ya from myself and my family. To those who are considering her services,MONEY WELL SPENT!

Sincerely,

Carl Y. Thomas,Sr.,MIC F & I Industries,LLC President/CEO” March 19, 2010
