BIOShe is from Morton Texas where she participated in all sports and was a member of the '86-'87 FIRST Girls State Championship Basketball team as a freshman In High School LaQuita received such honors as MVP, Best Hustler, Best Free-Throw Percentage and The Best All Around Female Athlete and attended the Track State Meet also in the Shot-put.
She graduated from Abilene Christian University and continued her basketball career with the Lady Wildcats attending the NCAA Division II tournament twice and receiving her Bachelor’s in Biology.
She attended the WNBA's Detroit Shock try-out camp in its first year and the ABL training camp in the early 90's. Later she played in a Semi-Professional Basketball league, WUBA, with the Houston Blaze until a recurring knee injury ended her career as a player.
She is a certified science teacher with the Board of Education in Texas and taught Integrated Physics and Chemistry for six years. She also participates in summer AAU Basketball where she is a certified summer coach with the NCAA Coaches Association, she is a member of NACA and the Urban League, and Allsportrating System for athlete recruiting. She is also a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer and WNBA Sports Agent, a member of WBCA (WOMENS BASKETBALL COACHES ASSOCIATION), and a fitness consultant for Jamsource Magazine.
LaQuita is the FIRST female coach in the Fort Bend Independent School District and in the State of Texas to coach High School boy’s basketball at Hightower High School. While at Hightower LaQuita was one of the contributing coaches who helped a beginning boy’s program appear at the State Final Four Finalist State Basketball Tournament in Austin TX two consecutive years, she was the scouting coordinator for the program and coached the freshman and sophomore boy’s teams. She was also the Head Varsity cheerleading coach while at Hightower. Her squad received The Best Camp Cheer Squad Award and many individual All-Star Cheer Awards including the Best Mascot and Coach’s Award. Her Soph. boy’s basketball team of 2003 won the District Championship losing only one game by one point. Some of those players now attend such colleges as Jarvis Christian University , UNLV, The University Of Houston , Sam Houston, Texas Southern, Cedar Valley College, Stephen F. Austin and more.
LaQuita also worked basketball camps for kids in the Panhandle area, Abilene,and Houston including the Mario Ellie basketball camps. The Summer of 2005 she spent mentoring young athletes transporting them to the John Lucas basketball training camps held in Houston Texas. She resigned from teaching and coaching High School in 2003 to commit her life to an even bigger vision of helping young people reach their full potential and see their dreams and goals through to the very end and that's the purpose of Xtreme Heat Sports Management.
LaQuita is committed to aid in the development of young boys and girls. She is a freelance scouter in Houston traveling across the country finding young new talent; she also manages and consults young athletes as they prepare for the next level of their athletic careers. She has been an important instrument in getting athletes opportunities playing at the professional level in the NFL, WNBA tryouts and in Europe. Her life’s goal is to be a vehicle for young people, helping them prosper as individuals giving them hope and encouragement and motivating them to reach for their dreams and even more. She and her team hosts basketball camps with schools, churches, and other organizations, training and conditioning sessions, market and promote athletes, and set up opportunities to heighten their athletic careers.
